Arrive in Bombay

2 Dec 1914

Reveille 6. Still steaming east.

The baggage party bring up baggage from the hold.

Sight land about 2pm.  Arrive in Bombay harbour about 5.30 pm and anchor.

We passed fort in centre of the bay.  Daylight was then waining.  The sun set had a glorious effect.  The city looks remarkable in the sun set silhouetted against the crimson sky.

Just as we were entering the bay, a pilot was rowed out to us by natives, this was the first appearance of the natives of India to us, these were native fishermen or shore men who seemed more superior than those we had accosted elsewhere.
